Starting from 86 kg, this starlet has reduced her weight to 58 kg and has become the new hot actress in town. After her sky rocketing launch in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, the work of Parineeti was praised a lot. Ishqzaade was one of her finest performances but she was always criticized for her weight.

Today SheNeeds present to you the incredible weight loss journey of Parineeti Chopra. Her struggle from flab to fab hasn’t been easy and today we will know the details in her words.

Her Journey

There are women who are very comfortable in their bodies when they are over weight. But this was not the case with Parineeti. She felt uncomfortable in her body and was open about it. She very openly accepted that she was over weight and expressed her desire to be slim.

In one of her interviews with a news daily, Parineeti said, “I am a 25 year-old and there is no reason for me to look fat. I want to look great. I am taking care of myself and I am losing even more weight because I want to look better.”

Talking about Vidya Balan and Hum Qureshi, Parineeti said, “Those actresses are comfortable in what they look like. I used to feel uncomfortable. I am in a visual medium and should be able to compete with every good-looking actress.”

Her Biggest Challenge

Parineeti accepts that the biggest challenge for her was to dress up when she was over weight. In spite of being in showbiz, she was not free to wear anything of her choice. The clothes were always ill fitted and it made her hate the concept of dressing up. She says, “I was sick and tired of clothes not fitting and having limited options on what to wear.”

How she reduced her waist size from 38 to 30

Parineeti says that she was a chubby child since childhood. But since she chose to be a Bollywood actress, she soon realized that only acting skills are not enough to survive in this industry. She decided to take her fitness seriously and although she hates the concept of gymming, she started to work out. With rigorous weight training, Parineeti, soon shut up her critics by showing off her more toned avatar.

Her Exercises include

  • Jogging; She starts her day with it
  • Meditation; it keeps her mind healthy

  • Any activity such as swimming and horse riding which entertain and tones her at the same time.
  • Running on treadmill

How She Changed Her DIET

Like every other foody girl, she is a big time Pizza lover too. But she soon realized that she is gaining weight because of her poor metabolism. So, to make her efforts to loose weight, successful, Parineeti decided to give up on Pizza and all the other fatty fast foods. All the things which she ate and were hard on her body to digest are now absent from her diet.

Here is what she said, “For the last few months, I have been working on myself. I have lost a lot of weight, and I am much fitter now. I was so busy last year that I didn’t get the time to work on myself. I neglected my health, but now, I make sure I take care of it. I’m doing a form of Kerala martial arts called Kalaripayattu. I do it every day for an hour. It has made me more flexible, stronger, and has also helped build my stamina. I don’t like going through the regular gym routine to lose weight. It really bores me. I guess I couldn’t multi-task. I was working day in and day out, and not taking care of my health. I not only looked unhealthy, but also felt it. I wanted to feel energetic, but I was just constantly tired. So, I decided to change that. We always aim to get thin. But that’s not enough. We should feel fit from the inside. I was unfit and overweight. Now as I am losing weight and getting fitter, I should soon be where I want to be.”

“Under this program, the patient has to undergo several tests in order to determine what his or her body can tolerate. Depending on that, a diet chart for six months is drawn, which the clients have to strictly adhere to. And it costs between Rs 5-10 lakh for a 15 to 30 day- course, depending on the program.”  Parineeti’s expectation before taking up this new regime was to fit into hot clothes. And she has got her wish.
