Becoming a mother for the first time is rewarding and tiring at the same time. The feeling of providing nutrition  to a newborn is the most blessed feelings of all. And taking your baby in your arms for almost half an hour every two hours is exhausting too. Looking at your baby sleep, stroking his arms, feeling his soft supply skin makes the mother cherish her motherhood. But sometimes it gets hard for the mother to spend so much time sitting in just position. They get bored or due to exhaustion they feel irritated. Since breastfeeding is the only time a mother  gets when she can find a few minutes of peace and solace, there are a few things she can plan to do while breastfeeding her child. There are many wonderful things which can give you a sense of fulfillment and will fill your soul with immense peace after you are done breastfeeding your child.

1. Trim Your Baby’s nails

This is the only time when you will sit quietly with your baby as he drifts off to sleep. while breastfeeding since you are holding your baby so close to you, you can very easily cut his nails. This will become all the more easy because your baby won’t be moving and it will reduce the chances of him getting hurt. Just make sure that you have the right feeding pillow and your back is properly supported while you trim those sharp edgy nails.

2. Bless or pray for your child’s health

In our Indian culture, we believe that a blessing goes a long way for a baby when it comes from a mother’s heart. As you sit to breast feed your child, you can take your time to admire those tiny shapes his mouth is making, his tiny fingers, the expression of his eyes and everything which makes you fall in love every time you look at him. You can read out your prayers to him or you can bless him for all the good health and prosperity in life. There’s nothing better than sending all the good vibes to your baby as he feeds.

3. Take a footbath

We know being a mother is taking a toll on your health too. You don’t get to sleep too well since you have to breastfeed every two hours. Mothers who exclusively breastfeed their babies are the most tired creatures on the planet for sure. breastfeeding experts always suggest that you do something very relaxing while breastfeeding your baby. Well, what’s more relaxing than a footbath. Choose your favorite bath salts, add some essential oils and pour in some warm water. Those thirty minutes will go flying we promise.

4. It’s puzzle time

While being a mother to a new born, taking rest is the farthest thing you can think of. Don’t you think it’s the right time for you to solve your favorite puzzle which you just ignore or your sudoku games, or the newspaper crosswords. Remember the time when you never missed a single crossword? Well, get your game back and start soling it as you sit idle for long duration in almost every two hours.

5. It’s Tea Time

If you are a mother of two children, we know how dreaded a hot cup of tea is. Those numerous reheating episodes have happened to all. Blame it either on the forgetfulness or the busy schedule you have, we know that it’s been a long time since you enjoyed a hot cup of tea or coffee. Just make sure that your baby is safe from any spills and you sit in a position where there are no chances of your little one kicking your drink.

We know that it’s hard being a mother, but we also know that you are doing a great job. You are the best your child can have. Just make sure that you don’t get bored while you breastfeed your child. Make use of it and we are sure you will look forward to those 30 minutes after every two hours.
